Partner Legacy Support Program

2013 – Present

EWMI takes pride in its commitment to its local partners and established the Partner Legacy Support Program in 2013 as a mechanism to continue to fund its partners around the world. To date, EWMI has accepted donations from individuals, foundations, and donor advised funds for partners in Cambodia, Kosovo, and Liberia that promote access to justice for the most vulnerable groups in various political, economic and cultural contexts.

In recognition the important contributions made by long-time collaborator Lester Salamon and his colleagues at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Civil Society Studies to the understanding of civil society worldwide, EWMI is pleased to support the maintenance of the Center’s online archive to ensure continuing access to the Center’s research, history, and knowledge. Please visit ccss.jhu.edu to learn more about the Center and its work.

EWMI accepts secure donations for Partner Legacy Support Program organizations through Give Lively, including through the following campaigns.

Kosovo Women’s Network

Women’s rights groups are facing global backlash, from direct threats to deep funding cuts. Amid these challenges, they remain committed to persevere. Among them is the Kosovo Women’s Network (KWN), a network of 102 diverse women’s organizations working in Kosovo and the Western Balkans since 1996. Together, they know they are strong and can continue to work toward achieving their vision of a Kosovo in which women and men are equal and have equal opportunities for education, employment, political participation, healthcare and a life free from violence.

Despite the urgent need for further work, KWN and its members are facing a financial crisis amid sudden unprecedented funding cuts by their traditional supporters.

Your donation will enable KWN to continue to realize their vision of a Kosovo in which women and men are equal and have equal opportunities for education, employment, political participation, healthcare, and a life free from violence.

If you prefer to send your donation by mail, checks should be made out to the East-West Management Institute, Inc. (indicate “KWN” in the memo line) and mailed to: East-West Management Institute, 909 Third Avenue, Unit 1167, New York, NY 10022.

Alliance for American Rule of Law

The Alliance for American Rule of Law (AAROL) is a grassroots network of Rule of Law advocates who’ve spent their careers strengthening democracy and justice around the world. After witnessing the lack of the Rule of Law firsthand in other countries, AAROL Members began raising the alarm about similar threats emerging across the United States. AAROL is focused on promoting America’s constitutional and traditional legal values: the independence of the judiciary; freedom of speech; equality before the law; clarity of laws and judicial decisions; accountability for public corruption; and the right to council.

What began as a shared sense of urgency around the Rule of Law has grown into a nationwide, grassroots Alliance — producing expert videos, publishing thought leadership and action resources, and building a network of advocates and partners across the country — designed to educate others about the importance of the Rule of Law to American democracy.

Your donation will help AAROL put decades of global expertise to work for American democracy.

If you prefer to send your donation by mail, checks should be made out to the East-West Management Institute, Inc. (indicate “AAROL” in the memo line) and mailed to: East-West Management Institute, 909 Third Avenue, Unit 1167, New York, NY 10022.
