
Building Bioethics Capacity in Pakistan

The Building Bioethics Capacity in Pakistan project sought to improve bioethics capacity in Pakistan by improving the capacity of university faculty to set standards of scientific integrity in their institutions and in government while protecting individual human subjects and medical patients The project focused on three objectives: (1) Building capacity in bioethics in Pakistan using a transnational, university partnership strategy aimed at strengthening the ties between Indonesia and Pakistan bioethics communities by supporting meetings for key personnel in the only centers of bioethics in Pakistan and Indonesia, respectively, as well as leaders in bioethics from other universities in both countries; (2) Improving bioethics knowledge about research ethics, clinical ethics and bioethics education in universities throughout Pakistan; and (3) Strengthening a bioethics network among university faculties in Pakistan.
