EWMI works with communities around the world to protect human rights, strengthen governance, and advance equal justice for all, leading to more just, prosperous and peaceful communities. EWMI supports its partners from the civic, public and private sectors to develop laws, policies, and programs that improve services, quality of life, and respect for fundamental rights. This rights-based, community-centric approach has enabled EWMI to deliver tangible results in varied settings around the globe, helping people attain greater access to justice, combat corruption, obtain needed government services, and live in better economic and environmental conditions.

ABOUT US:
EWMI, established in 1988, is a public charity headquartered in New York City. It is staffed with leading development professionals from around the world with extensive experience in strengthening civil societies and leading legal reform initiatives. It also draws on experts from the United States and abroad, especially from the countries in which we work, to design and lead our programs. EWMI’s work has been funded by USAID, the World Bank, the US Department of State, and multiple private foundations.
