EWMI Trains Free Legal Aid Providers in Witness Interviewing Techniques
EWMI’s Judicial Independence and Legal Empowerment Project (JILEP) provided witness interviewing training to nine representatives of four Georgian free legal aid provider NGOs, and three lawyers from the state free legal aid service. During the training, held on February 8, JILEP consultant, Neil Weinstein, taught the participants how to effectively plan in advance for, and successfully interview witnesses. Mr. Weinstein introduced the lawyers to a variety of types of questioning techniques and provided them tips on how to judge witness credibility. The workshop was the fifth in a series of lawyering skills workshops designed to improve the quality of legal aid service in Georgia.
