With a grant from the United States Department of State - Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL), the East-West Management Institute implemented a project to advance transparency and counter corruption in Sri Lanka, by providing technical support to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC). The Advancing Transparency and Accountability in Sri Lanka: Strengthening the Technical Capacity of CIABOC project helped to build CIABOC’s capacity to document, process, monitor, and resolve corruption and bribery cases, and helped develop an automated case management for tracking CIABOC’s caseload.
With funding through a grant from the United States Department of State, EWMI and its local partner, the Center for Public Policy (CPP), are providing free legal advice to underserved and needy citizens in the northern sections of Sri Lanka which have been severely affected by the ongoing civil war

East-West Management Institute and AmCham Sri Lanka are extending an invitation to a public presentation of two research surveys conducted by Verité Research, SL and RIWI Corp. on the public perceptions of bribery and corruption in Sri Lanka.

EWMI is closely following developments related to the current outbreak of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID – 19) and monitoring guidelines provided by relevant international, national and local public health authorities.

Sri Lanka’s Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption (CIABOC) has recently expanded its mandate to encompass corruption prevention, and is now in the process of establishing a new corruption prevention unit.
