Legal and Judicial Reform Experts
EWMI anticipates needing experts in the following areas:
- Judicial Reform, including designing and implementing processes for the appointment, disciplining, and monitoring the effectiveness of judges and other court officials. Experience in anti-corruption measures such as declaration of assets and vetting of judicial candidates will be considered important.
- Court Administration, including the introduction of methodologies for improving the efficiency and transparency of courts. Useful experience in this area would include the development and introduction of automated case and court management technologies, courthouse design, and personnel management.
- Legislative Drafting, such as the drafting of fundamental laws and treaties, as well as the process for ensuring public participation and conducting regulatory impact assessments. Expertise in comparative and international law will be considered an asset.
- Public Education and Advocacy, to design, lead, and implement public education and advocacy programs, including through training, supervising grants made to local organizations, and the design of survey instruments.
- Human Resources and Institutional Development, which would include experts in adult education techniques for the training of judges, lawyers, and court administrators; and experts in institutional development, covering such matters as strategic planning, advocacy for funding, and personnel management.
COMMERCIAL LAW Experts
Senior attorneys with commercial law experience to provide legal drafting assistance and training for projects globally are sought. Expertise in bankruptcy, collateral, contracts, anti-monopoly, corporation and other commercial law areas preferred. Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience and advanced degrees, and USAID, international, and Chief of Party experience preferred. U.S., EU and third country nationals are encouraged to apply.
